Daniel Cohen
About the author
Daniel Cohen was born in Tunis in 1953. A graduate of the École normale supérieure on rue d’Ulm, he held the agrégation in both mathematics and economics, as well as a state doctorate. He specialized in sovereign debt, working for the Lazard bank and advising political leaders such as Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou and Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa on renegotiating their countries’ debt.
Politically on the left, he also advised many French governments and several Socialist Party leaders. He headed the Centre pour la recherche économique et ses applications, and died in 2023.
