About the author

Daniel Kahneman (1934–2024) was an Israeli-American psychologist whose work on judgment, decision-making, and behavioral economics earned him the 2002 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences — making him, in effect, the discipline's founding patriarch. Working with Amos Tversky, he established the cognitive roots of human error through heuristics and biases and developed prospect theory, directly challenging the assumption of rational actors central to modern economics. His 2011 bestseller Thinking, Fast and Slow brought these ideas to a global audience.

He was professor emeritus at Princeton University and a founding partner of TGG Group.
