Timothy Shiou-Ming Wu is a Taiwanese-American legal scholar and professor of law at Columbia University who served as Special Assistant to the President for Technology and Competition Policy from 2021 to 2023. He is known for significant contributions to antitrust and communications policy, including coining the phrase "network neutrality" in his 2003 law journal article. Wu has been a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times and a leading advocate for antitrust action against major technology companies in the late 2010s.
