Ron Paul, born in 1935, served as a Republican congressman from Texas for over two decades and pursued the Republican presidential nomination multiple times. A practicing obstetrician-gynecologist by training, Paul developed into one of America's most consistent advocates for constitutional government and non-interventionist foreign policy. His political philosophy draws heavily from Austrian economics and classical liberalism, particularly the works of Ludwig von Mises and Murray Rothbard.

Prior to "A Foreign Policy of Freedom," Paul authored several works including "The Case for Gold" and numerous congressional speeches defending limited government principles.
