Neil Postman
About the author
Neil Postman (1931–2003) was an American author, educator, media theorist, and cultural critic who spent his career interrogating the social costs of technology. A committed skeptic of digital culture — including personal computers and mobile devices — he argued forcefully against their use in schools. His twenty books made him one of the most provocative voices on technology and education, with titles ranging from Teaching as a Subversive Activity (1970) to Amusing Ourselves to Death (1985) and Technopoly: The Surrender of Culture to Technology (1992).
