Narayana Guru (1856-1928) was a prominent Indian philosopher, social reformer, and spiritual leader from Kerala. Born into a lower-caste Ezhava family, he emerged as a transformative figure in South Indian society through his revolutionary approach to spirituality and social justice. His academic formation was rooted in traditional Sanskrit learning, Advaita Vedanta philosophy, and direct spiritual experience.

Beyond his spiritual teachings, Narayana Guru authored numerous works including philosophical treatises, devotional poetry, and social commentaries. His major publications encompassed texts on non-dualistic philosophy, ethical guidelines, and works advocating for educational and social reform, establishing him as both a mystic and a pragmatic social architect.
