Naomi Klein, born in Montreal in 1970, is a Canadian author, social activist, and filmmaker whose work has made her one of the most influential critical voices on capitalism, corporate globalization, and climate justice. Her 1999 book No Logo established her international profile, while The Shock Doctrine (2007), a sweeping critique of neoliberal economics, cemented her prominence. Her 2014 bestseller This Changes Everything won the Hilary Weston Writers' Trust Prize for Nonfiction.

A Sydney Peace Prize laureate, she holds the UBC Professorship in Climate Justice and co-directs the Centre for Climate Justice.
