Michael Walzer

Born in New York City in 1935, Michael Walzer is one of America's most prolific political theorists, with 27 books and over 300 articles spanning just war theory, nationalism, economic justice, tolerance, and antisemitism. Professor emeritus at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, he has been a defining voice at the left-wing magazine Dissent since his undergraduate days at Brandeis University, where his lifelong engagement with political ethics took root. He also serves as advisory editor of Fathom, sits on the editorial board of the Jewish Review of Books, and contributes to The New Republic.
