Samuel Jerrold "Jerry" Kaplan is an American computer scientist, author, and entrepreneur best known for his work on pen computing and tablet computers, including founding GO Corporation, whose technology contributed to the development of early smartphones and tablet PCs. He co-founded OnSale, the first B2C online auction site, which launched in 1994 five months before eBay, and has also co-founded the artificial intelligence company Teknowledge, Inc. and the social game website Winster.

com. Kaplan is a recipient of the 1998 Ernst & Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year Award and has authored books including Startup: A Silicon Valley Adventure and Humans Need Not Apply: A Guide to Wealth and Work in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.
