About the author
Cédric Durand, born in 1975, is a French economist whose work sits firmly within the tradition of Marxist political economy. Trained at the Grenoble Institute of Political Studies and holding a doctorate from the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences — supervised by Jacques Sapir — he also conducted postdoctoral research at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. After teaching at Claude Bernard University Lyon 1 and Sorbonne Paris North, he joined the University of Geneva in 2020.
His research spans globalization, financialization, and the rise of what he terms technofeudalism, alongside advocacy for a cyber-ecosocialist alternative.
