Camille Froidevaux-Metterie
About the author
Camille Froidevaux-Metterie, born in Paris in 1968, is a researcher and professor of political science whose work sits at the intersection of feminist philosophy and phenomenology. Placing the body at the center of her inquiry, she examines the transformations of the female condition in contemporary life, with particular attention to women's reappropriation of their bodies as expressed through movements such as MeToo and debates around intimacy and female genitality. Her thinking develops in direct continuity with Simone de Beauvoir and Iris Marion Young.
In 2017, she was awarded the Chevalier de l'ordre national du Mérite.
