Bernard Friot
About the author
Bernard Friot, a French sociologist and economist born in 1946 and professor emeritus at the University of Paris-Ouest Nanterre, has been a member of the French Communist Party since the 1970s. In 2011 he founded Réseau Salariat, a popular-education association that promotes the revolutionary idea of a lifetime salary. That idea grew out of his research on the building of social security in France, the subject of the state doctoral thesis he defended in 1993.
It is a body of thought still in the making, whose main theses are set out in L’Enjeu du salaire.
