Aurélien Barrau

Born in Neuilly-sur-Seine in 1973, Aurélien Barrau is a French physicist and philosopher whose work spans astroparticle physics, black holes, and cosmology. Director of the Grenoble Center for Theoretical Physics and professor at Université Grenoble Alpes, he holds a PhD in philosophy from Paris-Sorbonne alongside his scientific career. His research on quantum black holes and primordial cosmology earned him the 2006 Bogoliubov Prize and the 2012 European Thibaud Prize.
With over 100 refereed articles, he has also collaborated with artists such as Olafur Eliasson and filmmaker Claire Denis.
