Anne Martin-Fugier

Anne Martin-Fugier, born around 1950, is a French historian and art historian with a specialization in Hellenism. After completing her doctorate in the history of cultures, knowledge, and innovation at the EHESS in 1979, she turned her attention to the emergence of contemporary art in the early nineteenth century. Applying the rigorous methods of a nineteenth-century historian to contemporary art, she has become a distinctive voice in the field, while also actively supporting the work of living artists.
