André Legrand

About the author

André Legrand (1939–2024) was a leading French jurist and academic, professor emeritus at Paris Nanterre University and a former rector of a French education authority. A specialist in public law and education law, he devoted much of his career to studying the organization of the state and civil liberties. He was recognized both for the rigor of his legal analysis and for his ability to explain how republican institutions have evolved.
