Born in Paris in 1977, Alexandre Sumpf is a French historian and academic who holds a senior lectureship with accreditation to supervise research at the University of Strasbourg. His scholarly work focuses on two intersecting fields: the social and political history of Russia and the Soviet Union during the first half of the twentieth century, and the history of cinema.
