Paul Krugman

Paul Krugman, born in Albany in 1953, is one of the most influential economists in the world and the sole 2008 Nobel laureate in Economic Sciences, recognized for his foundational contributions to new trade theory and new economic geography. Distinguished Professor at the CUNY Graduate Center and professor emeritus at Princeton, he also holds a Centennial Professorship at the London School of Economics. A prolific scholar and public intellectual, he authored or edited 27 books, published over 200 academic articles, and wrote a widely read New York Times column from 2000 to 2024.
