John Micklethwait

John Micklethwait is the editor-in-chief of Bloomberg News, having previously served as the editor-in-chief of The Economist from 2006 to 2015. Born in London in 1962, he was educated at Ampleforth College and Magdalen College, Oxford, and joined The Economist in 1987 after working for Chase Manhattan Bank. Micklethwait has been recognized for his contributions to journalism, including being named Editors' Editor by the British Society of Magazine Editors in 2010, and was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2016
