François Lebrun
About the author
François Lebrun (1923–2013) was a French historian specializing in the early modern period, particularly the history of Anjou. Born in Sedan, he built his academic career at the University of Rennes 2 Haute Bretagne, where he became emeritus professor of modern history. From late 1989 he served on the editorial board of the monthly journal L'Histoire.
He also contributed to secondary education as the author of history and geography textbooks for lycée students, and directed a collection of university-level scholarly works.
