Cédric Villani

Cédric Villani is a French mathematician and politician specializing in partial differential equations, Riemannian geometry, and mathematical physics. He received the Fields Medal in 2010 and served as director of the Institut Henri Poincaré at Sorbonne University from 2009 to 2017. As of September 2025, he holds a professorship at the École normale supérieure de Rennes.
