Bret Weinstein

Bret Weinstein is an American evolutionary biologist and former professor at Evergreen State College. He earned his doctorate in biology from the University of Michigan, specializing in evolutionary theory and mathematical models of adaptation. His academic work focused on the evolution of senescence, mouse models, and the application of evolutionary principles to understanding human behavior.

Before gaining broader public attention during the 2017 Evergreen State College protests, Weinstein published research on evolutionary biology in peer-reviewed journals. He subsequently became a prominent public intellectual, co-hosting the DarkHorse podcast with his wife Heather Heying, another evolutionary biologist, and engaging in discussions about science, politics, and society from an evolutionary perspective.
