Life's returns match written aims

Becoming wealthy starts with believing it is possible. Financial success is not limited to a lucky few; the main barriers are in our own minds. We each hold the key to removing those mental blocks. Achieving success requires no more inherent difficulty than failing; it is simply a matter of adopting the right mental approach, which our subconscious has no reason to resist.

What excuses do people give for accepting failure? Some argue that everything was easier long ago, but over 15,000 Americans become millionaires each year. It has never been more attainable. Results depend more on mindset and character than external situations. Others protest they are too young and inexperienced. Such deficits can be offset by boldness, instinct and originality. Many have earned fortunes before age 30. It's never too late either. Why put your future behind you? Lack of capital is no excuse; thousands of stories prove ideas and attitude matter most initially. Education level is not a barrier. Thousands with little schooling have prospered. Nor is talent a prerequisite. Financial aptitude can be learned. No one inherently deserves poverty. Doubting one's energy is understandable but enthusiasm has a way of igniting when an idea gains momentum. Fear of failure is natural but avoiding risks means missing opportunities. With the right attitude, setbacks can be educational.

The best way to eliminate excuses is to write them down and assess their validity. Situations rarely improve on their own. Most expect their circumstances to work out as if by magic, rather than bending reality to their dreams. But wealth requires an intense, enduring desire to succeed. Achievement corresponds directly to the strength and constancy of ambition. All great successes possessed an obsessive determination and fixation on their goals. For them, success became an all-consuming obsession that tolerated no delays or obstacles. Obsession yields tangible outcomes and spurs action.

Many abandon bold dreams in the name of practicality, inhibited by social conditioning and education systems that assume people cannot have what they truly want. But every great innovation and success originated from a dream or desire. If you do not believe in your own dreams, you cannot convince anyone else. Without belief, you cannot motivate others toward your vision. Success requires total commitment. The successful banish self-doubt and have tremendous faith in themselves and their plans. The power of belief leads to achievement.

Leverage Subconscious Capacity

"A French pharmacist named Emile Coue developed a self-suggestion formula that worked wonders for his clients. The formula involved repeating the following statement aloud in a monotone voice about 20 times per day: ""Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better."" This formula can be customized to focus on enhancing specific personal qualities, for example: ""Every day, in every way, I am becoming more enthusiastic, tenacious, energetic..."" etc.

To increase their impact, it is recommended to write down suggestions on paper, which lends thoughts more power and authority. Experience shows that suggestions should be: brief (if too long they lose effectiveness), positive (essential), gradual (avoid conflicts by using phrases like “I’m getting richer day by day”), and even a forced, mechanical repetition will show some effect. Adding emotion and feeling will produce faster, better results. Begin programming yourself this way today.

The greatest limitation a person can impose is the one created in their own mind. Your self-image faithfully reflects your mental programming. No matter external factors, you automatically set goals based on your self-image. Expanding your self-image is the starting point for growth and success. A new self-image leads to new goals, which lead to a new life. All wealthy people pictured themselves as very rich before achieving their dreams. They were convinced they would one day become millionaires. Life answered their dreams according to their self-image and unyielding belief. Create your own self-image and take control of your destiny. Useful suggestions include: “I’m getting richer day by day” and “Life is putting people in my path to improve my finances.”

When creating personal formulas, do not limit yourself. Do not fear boldness. Your potential is extraordinary, no different than the rich. Picture yourself already rich and use creative visualization, filling your mind with positive images of attained goals. Remember time does not exist in the subconscious, so it will not react negatively to images of future success. Thoughts tend to materialize into reality, so monitor carefully. However, the successful never allow adversity to defeat them. In the world of the mind, ideas govern reality. Each thought vibrates, drawing similar circumstances towards it.

Love the work you do

If you expect boredom, frustration, and failure from life, that is precisely what you will receive. The key is to pursue work about which you are passionate. Truthfully ask yourself - if given a million dollars today, would you remain at your present job? The ultra-wealthy are motivated by a love of their work and constantly thinking up new challenges. They rarely vacation, as their work is their passion.

They loathe the thought of spending time any other way. If you want a long, happy existence, do what you love most. Stress and frustration are the main causes of aging. To stay eternally youthful within, focus on what brings you joy. The very affluent are driven by a need to perfectly execute something that delights countless people. As they do not seek immediate profit, the amounts amassed seem to multiply later on. The cornerstone of any successful business is service, not instant wealth. Money flows naturally when the product or service is superb. Be the best, and money always follows.

Streamline your effectiveness

Improving your productivity by even small increments can have a significant cumulative benefit over time. Working just one extra hour per day equates to contributing an additional 250 hours over the course of a year. That is the equivalent of adding over six extra 40-hour work weeks. Imagine what could be accomplished by consistently investing that extra time and effort. While putting in some extra time is constructive, also examine the effectiveness of your work methods. Enhancing efficiency relies largely on improving concentration and setting shorter deadlines to complete tasks. Studies show people tend to take all the time allotted for an assignment, even if it could be finished more quickly when necessity demands it. So, reasonably increasing expectations for your work tempo can automatically upgrade your throughput. Simply being aware of how you are using time can impact productivity.

There are techniques to boost concentration. Try this simple exercise: Draw a quarter-inch black dot on cardboard and affix it to a wall or place it on the floor to stare at. Sit comfortably, breathe slowly, and focus intently on the dot without blinking. Disregard any eye irritation, as this actually strengthens the optical nerve. Begin with sessions of two to three minutes, gradually increasing the duration over time. With regular practice, concentration ability for up to twenty continuous minutes can be developed. It may seem too basic, but don’t dismiss attempting this exercise. It demonstrably sharpens concentration, intuition, and memory. The level of concentration invested in an activity directly correlates to the enjoyment derived from it.

Applying these principles

Born in 1902, Ray Kroc achieved worldwide fame as the man behind the success of McDonald's. He had a successful career selling milkshake mixers when he began supplying the McDonald brothers' hamburger restaurant in California. At age 53, he obtained the rights to build McDonald's franchises across the U.S.A. While continuing to sell mixers, he also sold McDonald's franchises, opening four in his first year.

Kroc convinced real estate owners to rent him land using subordinate financing where they took a second mortgage while his team negotiated a first mortgage with a bank. This allowed franchisees to pay off the mortgages over time while still making a profit. Kroc refined the food and operations to ensure high, consistent standards across locations. He built a team including accountants, lawyers and advisers. In 1961, he bought the McDonald brothers' stake for $2.7 million, repaying the loan in 9 years. By 1977 McDonald's had 4,177 U.S. restaurants and 21 overseas, continuing expansion since.
