Tony Hsieh, a Harvard University graduate, is the CEO of Zappos Inc., a prominent online shoe retailer. Zappos was acquired by Amazon in November 2009 in a transaction valued at $1.
2 billion. Prior to his tenure at Zappos, Hsieh, at the age of 24, sold LinkExchange, a company he co-founded, to Microsoft for $265 million in 1999. Hsieh initially joined Zappos as an investor, later transitioning into an advisory role, and ultimately ascending to the position of CEO.
Under his leadership, the company evolved from a startup in 1999 to a billion-dollar enterprise by 2008. In recognition of its exceptional workplace environment, Fortune Magazine named Zappos as one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For" in 2009. In addition to his achievements at Zappos, Hsieh co-founded Venture Frogs, a business incubator and investment firm.
